Choosing a yoga mat and caring for it

I'm planning to do yoga. Already bought a subscription to classes. Currently looking for a yoga mat. Who can tell me how to choose it? And can you clean it at home yourself?

Re: Choosing a yoga mat and caring for it

You can choose a mat thickness ranging from 3mm to 6mm depending on your preferred support and comfort. Thin rugs are usually easier to carry, but provide less cushioning. Thick mats provide better cushioning, which can be useful when doing yoga with meditation or asanas where extra support is needed. Do a deeper clean regularly (about once a month). To do this, you can use warm water and mild soap or a special rug detergent. Do not use aggressive chemicals that can damage the material. You can find out more about yoga mat cleaning here
